PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire having high elongation at break although having high hardness and low tanδ, and particularly suitable for a bead apex and a base tread. SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the tire contains 0.6-8 pts.wt. of N,N-dialkyl-2-benzothiazolylsulfenamide (two alkyl groups are straight alkyl groups having a 4-16C branch structure and may be the same or different), and 3-7 pts.wt. of sulfur based on 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component containing a natural rubber and/or an isoprene rubber.
