PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk playback device which reads video object recorded in an optical disk and can play back it even when a play list to be read initially cannot be read. SOLUTION: The optical disk playback device includes: a data reading part for reading a plurality of video objects and a plurality of order definition data; a playback part for extracting AV data from the video object and playing back it; and a playback control part for controlling playback of AV data. The data reading part reads readable other order definition data even when order definition data to be read initially out of a plurality of order definition data is not read normally, the playback control part indicates identification information of read other order definition data, and controls so that a plurality of video objects are reproduced conforming to order definition data selected by a user.
