PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator door device smoothening the flow of people when passengers get on and off, in an elevator having only one car doorway. SOLUTION: This elevator door device 2 includes: a plurality of door panels 21, 22, 23, 24 provided to the doorway 20 of the car 5; drive systems 25, 26 driving the door panels 21, 22, 23, 24 to open/close the doorway 20; and a door control section 27 controlling the drive systems 25, 26 so that when the door panels 21, 22, 23, 24 are opened, only a part of the doorway 20 is opened in order to allow the passengers to get off, and also under this condition, the opening of the door is temporarily stopped, then the rest of the doorway 20 is opened.
