PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve positioning accuracy while surely supporting and fixing an object to be printed which is thick by holding a horizontal surface thereof, and to reduce power consumption. SOLUTION: An inkjet digital printer can perform printing only by controlling the up-and-down movement of a printer head module 3 when the thickness of the object to be printed 2 is within a moving limit Z<SB>1</SB>in a direction Z of the module 3. When the thickness h of the object to be printed 2> Z<SB>1</SB>, a lifting table 5 on which the object to be printed 2 is placed is lowered by an amount h, and inkjet printing is performed to the upper surface of the object to be printed 2. The printing-feasible thickness h is in the moving limit Z<SB>2</SB>of the lifting table 5+ Z<SB>1</SB>. The lifting table 5 stops at a predetermined position by being rapidly lowered while it is kept horizontal by a ball screw 6 and a linear guide 7. The lifting table 5 has a plurality of suction holes 5A so as to suck a bottom of the object to be printed 2 to hold and fix the object to be printed 2, thereby obtaining printing accuracy. By forming the lifting table 5 into a divided constitution, the suction or elevation of an area where the object to be printed is not placed is stopped to reduce the power consumption.
