PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably manufacture an optical film of high quality by restraining resin retained and gelated in a filtration apparatus, from being mixed into molten resin after filtrated. SOLUTION: A filtration apparatus 4 for molten resin comprises: approximately cylindrical case bodies 21, 26 having an inlet 24 of molten resin in a first end face which is one end face, and an outlet 28 of molten resin in a second end face which is the other end face; a plurality of filters 22 of approximately disk shape laminated and stored in the case bodies 21, 26; a post 25 supporting the filters 22 and having a passage communicating with the outlet 28 while allowing the inflow of molten resin flowing in from the inlet 24 and filtrated through the filters 22; and a retained resin discharge passage 29 provided in a member 26 constituting the second end face, and discharging the retained resin retained between the second end face and the filter 22 closest to the second end face out of the filters 22, to the outside of the case bodies 21, 26.
