PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assessing the morbid state of colon cancer including lymph node metastasis and stage progression with genomic abnormality(ies) as indicator(s) for the purpose of conducting an effective treatment of a relevant colon cancer patient. SOLUTION: The method for assessing the morbid state of colon cancer including lymph node metastasis and stage progression is provided, comprising detecting the DNA copy number abnormality(ies) in one or more regions selected from chromosome's 8q24.3 region, 13q12.3 region, chromosome 17p13.3 region and chromosome 17p13.1 region using FISH method, chromosome CGH(c-CGH) method, BAC array CGH(a-CGH) method or the like, with a subject-derived cancer cells as a material.
