The manufacturing apparatus (10) of a brake lining (41) is provided with a support part (33) which supports a brake shoe (43), a compression part (20) which crimps the belt-like brake lining (41) to a limb (43b) by compressing a raw material, and die parts (31, 32) which have a die frame (32) for molding the lateral faces of the brake lining (41) and a pressing member (31) for molding the frictional face (41a) of the brake lining (41) by pressing the raw material and which mold the brake lining (41). The die frame (32) has first molding faces (32a) which mold first lateral faces (41b), a second molding face (32b) which molds a second lateral face (41c), and third molding faces (32c) which are disposed at the boundary portions of the first molding faces (32a) and the second molding face (32b) to continuously connect the first molding faces (32a) with the second molding face (32b) through curving faces.
