<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new safe material having a great α-MSH inhibiting function. <P>SOLUTION: The new material includes a peptide represented by formula (I): Arg-Pro-Phe-Phe, its derivative or a salt thereof, or a peptide represented by formula (II): Arg-Gly-Pro-Phe-Phe, its derivative or a salt thereof, and a composition containing the peptide, its derivative or the salt thereof.
