<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide for a light emitting device capable of efficiently extracting light propagating in a core to outside and emitting it, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The optical waveguide for the light emitting device includes an underclad layer 2, the core 3 formed at a prescribed part on a surface of the underclad layer 2, and an overclad layer 4 formed on a surface of the underclad layer 2 covering the core 3, a hole portion 41 reaching the core 3 being formed at a prescribed part of the overclad layer 4 and filled with a coat material 5 having a larger refractive index than that of the core 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
