摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and precisely form a clearance allowing movement in the center axis direction of a shaft in a bearing mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing the bearing mechanism 4 used for a motor of a storage disk drive apparatus, a sleeve 42 in which the shaft 41 is inserted and a seal member 44 are fitted in a sleeve housing 43 and slidably and temporarily fixed, a lower end 411 of the shaft 41 abuts on a thrust member 45 arranged on an inner bottom surface of the sleeve housing 43, and the sleeve 42 abuts on a detent member 412 of the shaft 41. Since a bottom 432 of the sleeve housing 43 is pressed and elastically deformed, the shaft 41, a sleeve 42, and the seal member 44 are moved on an opening side of the sleeve housing 43 through a thrust member 45, and pressing is released to return the bottom 432 to an original shape.
