PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device which can be ongoingly used even when a battery cover is broken. SOLUTION: The electronic device comprises a battery storage portion 231 for storing a battery 211 inserted from an opening 232, a cover placement portion 235 stepped so that the opening area on a housing surface 106a side is wider than the inside side of the storage portion on the periphery of the opening 232, a lock mechanism 241 for releasably locking the battery 211 stored in the battery storage portion 231 while contacting with the battery 211, and a battery cover 221 attached to a face exposing outside of the battery 211, which in turn is stored in the battery storage portion 231, wherein the battery cover has a shape such that it is placed by the outer periphery 223 on the cover placement portion 235 while the battery is stored in the battery storage portion 231.
