PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a multipurpose stand inserted and installed under a bed mat or a bottom mattress, wherein since a thumbscrew for fixing an extended/contracted support column pipe for adjusting the height of a table is mounted to the outer surface on the support column, a projection of the thumbscrew becomes an obstacle causing tearing of a lap blanket or a top cover. SOLUTION: A fixing metal fitting for an extended/contracted support column is formed by cutting a lower end of an extended/contracted round bar-shaped support column inserted to an outer support column pipe and mounting again the cut support column round bar to a portion outside from the central point of the cut cross section by a wood screw 4. Since the support column fixing metal fitting is provided inside the support column, a projection part of a thumbscrew outside the support column is eliminated.
