PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain trap which can efficiently collect refuse at the center of a hair catcher, and contributes to improved purification action of the hair catcher. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the drain trap, bathtub water in a bathtub 3 flows into a receiving chamber 11 of the drain trap 10, and forms a swirling flow. The water level in the receiving chamber 11 is progressively increased, and therefore the hair catcher 50 or a drainage basin 6 is inundated with the swirling flow. Thus refuse and hairs adhering to an internal surface of the drainage basin 6 or the hair catcher 50 are scraped out and collected to the center of the hair catcher 50. Then the water in the receiving chamber 11 swirls and flows to an annular outflow chamber 12, and flows out via a drain port 31. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
