PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a possibility of leaving a recording medium in an abnormal state just as it is by a user. SOLUTION: When a memory card (MS) is dismounted during record processing, a user interface screen to let the user make a selection as to whether to recover data or not is displayed (Figure 7(a)). Transition to another operational mode is not conducted until the user makes a selection as to whether to recover data or not. When the data recovery has been selected, a user interface screen to urge the user to reinsert the memory card dismounted (extracted) from a card insertion part 123 is displayed (Figure 7(c), 7(d)). When the memory card to be recovered is inserted, a user interface screen to let the user make a selection as to whether to achieve data recovery or not is displayed (Figure 7(e)). meanwhile, When the selection has been made so as not to recover the data, a user interface screen to let the user ascertain stoppage of data recovery is displayed (Figure 7(f)).
