PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feeder in which damages caused by the lifting and rolling of a loop are prevented even when the material is fed at high speed in a feeder of a belt-like material with which the loop (sagged part) is formed between two feed mechanisms on the upstream side and the downstream side. SOLUTION: A drive-control means (cylinders 37, a controller 40 and solenoid valves 53) which is provided just before the feed mechanism (roll feeder 10) on the downstream side, with which at least a part of a plurality of guide rollers 30 of a round-shape guide 10a for guiding the end part of a loop 1b is made ascendable and descendible and with which these descendible guide rollers 30a, 30b are ascended and descended to the stationary position is provided. This drive-control means is provided with a function for making the descendible guide roller ascend from the stationary position so as to follow up the lifting action of the loop at the position of the round-shape guide when decelerating the feed mechanism on the downstream side and a function for making the guide roller descend to the stationary position at acceleration which does not exceed the gravitational acceleration after finishing the lifting action.
