PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face state imaging device and a face state imaging method for preventing ultraviolet rays from entering eyes. SOLUTION: The face state imaging device 1 includes a near-ultraviolet light source 10, a camera 20, a controlling computer 30, and a monitor 40. When a motion sensor part inside detects that eyes of a subject H are closed, the controlling computer 30 controls to make the near-ultraviolet light source 10 emit near-ultraviolet rays and displays an image of a face of the subject H which is captured by the camera 20 and is stored in a storage part 32 inside on the monitor 40.
