<p>Embodiments of the invention may include an apparatus and a method for accomplishing tolerance compensation of a fastener that secures a first member to a second member. The apparatus and method may include the use of a unitary insert that is received in a first opening of the first member. The unitary insert may define a slotted hole such that a mechanical fastener passes through the slotted hole and the first opening in the first member. The mechanical fastener may then attach to the second member. The tolerance compensation may be achieved by adjusting an orientation of the slotted hole with respect to the first member.</p> |
