<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line head of improved reliability, usable for a long time and maintaining high image quality. <P>SOLUTION: The line head 1 is provided with a plurality of light emitting elements 50 on a substrate, and irradiates a photoconductor drum 3 with emission light emitted from the light emitting elements 50 through a lens array 26 provided face to face. The light emitting elements 50 are arranged in rows along the longitudinal direction of the substrate 30 to constitute light emitting element rows 51. The light emitting element rows 51 are provided in the short side direction of the substrate in the number of rows integer times as many as the number of light emitting element rows required for exposure of the photoconductor drum 3, and the light emitting element rows 51 allowed to emit light out of the light emitting element rows 51 are switched in units of the number of light emitting element rows required for exposure of the photoconductor drum 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
