PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure stable transport property of a recording material without using another transport means immediately before and after using a curl straightening device, in the curl straightening device using a pair structure of a rigid driving roll of a metal and the like and a soft driven roll for curl straightening when straightening a curl and even when not-straightening a curl. SOLUTION: This curl straightening device is provided with the driving roll 1 having a roll body 1a, the driven roll 2 for curl straightening wherein roll bodies 2a, 2b straighten the curl of the recording material 5 at a rigidity lower than the roll body 1a of the driving roll 1, a switching means 3 for switching the center distance d between the driving roll 1 and the driven roll 2 for curl straightening and a driven roll 4 for transport wherein a roll body 4a is arranged at part of the roll body 1a of the driving roll 1 at a section different from the roll bodies 2a, 2b of the driven roll 2 for curl straightening. The driven roll 4 for transport is driven and rotated while pressed and contacted with the roll body 1a of the driving roll 1 at least at the time of not-straightening a curl and transports the recording material 5 by providing the recording material 5 with a significant transport force.
