Sliding-clasp fastenings. - In sliding-clasp fasteners of the type described in Specifications 259,138 and 260,502, in which the clasp has a detent for engaging the locking elements to lock the clasp in any position, the detents are on the side of the clasp and engage between the ends of the elements fastened to the fabric. The slider has scroll-like corners 28 for ease of finger manipulation. Detents 35 are pivoted on a shaft 30 and have knurled edges, for turning down into engagement between the ends of the elements exposed by the clasp. A stop 37 limits the motion of the detents and a stud 40<a> engages a notch 38 to hold thedetents in engaging position. A cover 40 protects the detents. Certain of the elements may be deformed or bent, to prevent the entire removal of the clasp. |
