PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve certainty of an initial position for extracting the contour of a part under consideration from ultrasonic images. SOLUTION: Ultrasonic diagnostic equipment 1 stores standard form information 16 beforehand, and the standard form information 16 is information indicating the standard form of an intra-body area including the valve part and cardiac apex of the heart. The ultrasonic diagnostic equipment 1 forms the image data of the heart of a subject and displays images (cardiac apex four-chamber tomographic images or the like). An operator specifies the position of the valve part and the cardiac apex in the displayed image. When the position of the valve part or the like is specified in the displayed image, the ultrasonic diagnostic equipment 1 corrects respective specified positions on the basis of the standard form information 16, and extracts the image area equivalent to the intimal surface of a left ventricle from the displayed image with the specified position after the correction as an initial position.
