PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce twisting and warping of a top board due to spring back after deflection and forming of the top board by a hydrostatic pressure without causing cost increase and weight increase. SOLUTION: In the indoor unit for the air conditioner equipped with a body casing housing a fan and a heat exchanger, a longitudinal reinforcement rib 14 dividing the top board into two areas 13a, 13b, and lateral reinforcement ribs 15, 16 laid between top board side rims 13c, 13c facing the longitudinal rib reinforcement rib 14 in the two areas 13a, 13b are formed on the top board 13 of the body casing. Since the whole of the top board 13 is extensively reinforced, and twisting and warping of the top board 13 due to spring back after forming is reduced even if the lateral reinforcement ribs 15, 16 are formed by stretch forming, workability at top board assembly can be improved.
