PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution server and a distribution method, allowing provision of content information highly useful to a user, corresponding to position information of the user. SOLUTION: This distribution server 3 manages a content distributed based on a retrieval keyword as a history of place information corresponding to the retrieval keyword, and distributes a content corresponding to the place information according with position information to a mobile terminal 2 as a recommended content when acquiring the position information of the mobile terminal 2 used by the user. Accordingly, because the recommended content corresponds to the position information of the mobile terminal 2 used by the user and is specified based on the past retrieval history of the user, so that the recommended content has high usefulness to the user, and corresponds to the position information of the user, and the content information highly useful to the user can be provided.
