PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot key code transmission method of a keyboard for more correctly starting an application program than a keyboard regardless of an operating system language system. SOLUTION: When any hot key on the keyboard is typed, all the key codes of a corresponding key code group are successively transmitted to electronic equipment connected to a keyboard according to a prescribed transmission procedure. The electronic equipment reads the key code by a first code format, and converts the key code into the character of a first key code conversion table by referring to a first key code conversion table. By referring to a second key code conversion table of a second code format, a portion of the character is successively converted into the character corresponding to the second code conversion table. The electronic equipment executes an application program installed in the electronic equipment by the character converted by referring to only the first key code conversion table and the characters converted by referring to the first and second key code conversion tables.
