摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily discriminate a character from other image elements on an output image when executing halftoning processing of a source document having multi-level characters and the other image elements and outputting it. SOLUTION: After separating the character information of source document data and the other image information and executing monochromation using a threshold only to the character information, the halftoning processing is executed. The user can adjust the threshold, and a preview image indicating the example of how the output image looks when using the adjusted threshold is displayed when adjusting the threshold.
