PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve antenna selection suitable for the propagation environment. SOLUTION: A selection section 101 selects a signal received by one of a plurality of antennas. A signal strength measurement section 104 measures the strength of a received signal. A statistical value calculation section 105 calculates a statistical value representing the degree of variation of strength thus measured. A control section 106 determines whether switching of antenna is required or not based on the strength thus measured, and if the statistical value of strength is below a second threshold, determines that improvement in the reception situation of propagation environment cannot be expected even if the antenna is switched, and controls the selection section 101 to decrease the number of times of switching.
