PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the inside of a pot from becoming excessively pressurized. SOLUTION: During operation of a rice cooker, when a steam discharge passage is clogged and the steam can not be discharged, the inside of the pot 2 is prevented from becoming excessively pressurized by discharging steam inside the pot 2 with the use of a seal releasing part (a projection 17) arranged in a pot packing 32 , and also a steam generation amount in the pot is reduced or the generation is stopped by reducing or stopping heating the pot and the discharge of the steam from the seal releasing means is reduced or stopped, thereby safety of the user of the rice cooker is enhanced.
