A light emitting diode driving circuit is provided to increase the efficiency of a driving circuit by making the difference between real voltage drop of a LED module and the supplied voltage small. A rectifier rectifies AC voltage applied from an AC voltage source(110), and a constant current circuit converts the output current of the rectifier into a current having the same phase and waveform of the output voltage of the rectifier and outputs it. A light-emitting diode module(170) comprises a plurality of LED arrays operated with a current outputted from the constant current circuit. A control unit(190) gradually increases the operation number of the LED array to maximum as the size of the applied AC voltage is increased from the alternating voltage source.
