PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a contact margin between terminal fittings by preventing floating of a housing. SOLUTION: Two support parts 24 are formed on one side surface of a first housing 20 at positions symmetrical to a center of a fitting area with a second housing 40 in the lengthwise direction L. The lever 60 is selectively supported in a first mode on one of both the support parts 24 and turned toward one side around the support part 24, or in a second mode on the other and turned toward the other side around the support part 24. The lever 60 is formed with first and second parts for providing pushing forces on the first housing 20 in a direction to proceed with a fitting operation of the housings 20, 40 with the turning thereof. The first part is used as a cam groove 68 engageable with a follower pin 43 of the second housing 40 and the second part is used as a recessed groove 73 engageable with the support part 24 without supporting the lever 60.
