PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data retrieval device and method for efficiently retrieving data from large amounts of data without increasing the workload of a user. SOLUTION: A Web data acquisition part 101 obtains a content and meta-data including at least a retrieval key indicating contents of the content; a feature amount calculation part 103 calculates a feature amount from the obtained content; a learning data generation part 104 stores learning data that correspondingly includes the meta-data corresponding to each of the obtained content and the calculated feature amount in a learning data storage part 105; a learning data reconstructing part 106 reconstructs the meta-data included in the learning-data stored in the learning data storing part 105 to include all the retrieval keys of the meta-data of all the learning data; and a model generation part 107 generates a model from the learning-data, the model being a coefficient matrix indicating a relation between the retrieval key of the reconstructed meta-data and the feature amount.
