PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article having superior fitting property, following property to the movement of a wearer, leakage prevention property and feeling of wear. SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 is provided with a liquid-permeable surface sheet 2, a back side sheet 3 and an oblong absorber 4 interposed between the both sheets. The absorber 4 consists of an absorption sheet 41, and the absorption sheet 41 has cuts 42 extending inward in the width direction from the longitudinal both-side edges respectively. A nonwoven fabric stretchable sheet 5 having less liquid-retaining capacity than that of the absorption sheet 41 is disposed on the surface in the surface sheet side of the absorption sheet 41.
