Disclosed is a modified propylene resin containing an extremely small amount of a low-crystalline and low-molecular-weight component. Specifically disclosed is a modified propylene resin characterized by meeting the following requirements (1) to (4): (1) the melting point (Tm) is 140°C or higher as measured on a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC): (2) the amount a monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated bond grafted in the resin is 0.1 to 5 wt% after the resin is washed with hot xylene; (3) a component soluble in o-dichlorobenzene at 70°C is contained in an amount of 1.5 wt% or less; and (4) the intrinsic viscosity [?] is 0.1 to 4 dl/g.
