<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fermented licorice extract excellent in various physiologically active functions including an antioxidant function and an anti-aging function, inexpensively producible, high in safety, not badly influencing the quality of an object to be added concerning taste, odor, feeling after use, and the like, and widely usable for an external medicine for skin and a food and drink for beautification, and further an external medicine for skin and a food and drink for beautification blended with the fermented licorice extract as an active constituent for various physiologically active functions including an antioxidant function and an anti-aging function. <P>SOLUTION: The fermented licorice extract and a production method thereof are characterized by obtaining by fermenting at least one of licorice powder and licorice extract using a fungus of the genus Aspergillus.
