<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively minimize or attenuate the pressure pulse formed by a fuel injection device. <P>SOLUTION: A self-damping fuel rail 10 for a fuel injection type internal combustion engine includes an elongated tube 14 defining a wall and having a longitudinal axis 26. The wall defines a fuel passage 30, and has a first wall part 22A movable between a first position bowed inwardly toward the longitudinal axis 26 when the self-damping fuel rail 10 is in a non-operative state, and a second position moved outwardly away from the longitudinal axis 26 when the self-damping fuel rail 10 is in an operative state. The self-damping fuel rail 10 also includes at least one fuel outlet 18 configured to facilitate communication between the fuel passage 30 and a fuel injection device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
