PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimedia data reproducing system for dynamically controlling the operation of an external device, and to provide a multimedia data reproducing apparatus.

SOLUTION: The multimedia data reproducing apparatus includes: a multimedia data acquisition part 100 for acquiring multimedia data including in advance device control information for controlling the operation of an external device in a display data area according to an external device identifier for identifying the external device; an output permission information insertion part 150 for dynamically inserting output permission information indicating whether or not to output the device control information, into the display data area of the multimedia data; a synchronizing signal detection part 210 for detecting synchronizing signals; a control information extraction processing part 220 for extracting the device control information from the multimedia data on the basis of the synchronizing signals detected by the synchronizing signal detection part 210; and the external device operated according to the extracted device control information.
