<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a function expansion device which can make electronic equipment thin by determining the size of a function expansion device storage section formed in the electronic equipment within a range wherein the largest unit among arbitrary units stored in the function expansion device storage section can be stored. <P>SOLUTION: A side wall 13c of a lower housing 7 is formed overlapping opposite to the inside of a side wall 8b of an upper housing 8. An air vent 11 is composed of an upper housing air vent 8f formed at the side wall 8b of the upper housing 8 and a lower housing air vent 13b formed at the side wall 13c of the lower housing 7.
