A PDP and a method of producing the same are provided. The PDP allows the airtightness of the discharge space to be maintained and prevents its performance from deteriorating while being provided with a sealing part containing P2O5 and SnO. A sealing member that allows such a PDP to be obtained also is provided. The plasma display panel includes a pair of substrates that are disposed opposing each other so that a discharge space is formed therebetween, with peripheries of the pair of substrates being sealed together with a first sealing part. The first sealing part includes a glass composition containing P2O5 and SnO and a refractory filler. The organic matter content in the first sealing part is 10 ppm or less.
