<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup and objective optical element which appropriately records and/or reproduces information on three kinds of disks each different in recording density, with simple configuration at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The surface of the objective optical element has a center area which has a first optical path changing structure, and an outer area which has a second optical path changing structure. The optical element focuses the first light flux, the second light flux, and the third light flux all passing through the center area, respectively on the information recording surfaces of the first, second, and third optical disks, while focusing the first light flux, and the second light flux passing through the outer area, respectively on the information recording surfaces of the first and second optical disks. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
