<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of reducing a color shift, and to provide an illuminator thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is illuminated with light having such wavelength dispersion that light distribution is wider at a shorter wavelength in a horizontal direction and is independent of wavelength in a vertical direction, so that the wavelength dispersion in the horizontal direction of transmittance independence on incident angle of a liquid crystal panel to not only reduce a color shift phenomenon but also prevent the occurrence of a color shift in the vertical direction. Thus, the liquid crystal display device of high display quality with a negligible color shift in the vertical, horizontal, slant, and all directions can be implemented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
