<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for obtaining a petal to which a new flower color is imparted. <P>SOLUTION: A new protein having a 4-coumaroyl-CoA ligase activity and encoded with a gene that is a phenylpropanoid synthetic gene of a petunia related to synthesis of anthocyanin which is one of the principal ingredients of the flower color is provided. A method for creating a new plant body using the DNA encoding the protein is provided. Furthermore, an RNA regulating the expression of the enzyme is isolated from a plant to carry out gene recombination so as to express the RNA as a method for regulating the color tone of the flower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
