PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder for secondary battery electrode which demonstrates excellent charge and discharge characteristics when used for a secondary battery as a secondary battery electrode, a secondary battery electrode obtained using the binder, and a secondary battery having excellent charge and discharge characteristics. SOLUTION: The binder for secondary battery electrode contains a monomer composed using a salt monomer constructed of an onium cation having a polymerizing functional group and an organic anion having a polymerizing functional group. The binder, the secondary battery electrode obtained using an electrode active material as an indispensable component, and a secondary battery constructed by including a positive electrode and/or a negative electrode constructed of the secondary battery electrode and an electrolyte are provided.
