The arrangement has a press section with a press nip, and a dryer section following the press nip. A web (W) i.e. paper web, is arranged in the dryer section such that the web is led across a drying cylinder (30.1). Temperature of the drying cylinder, which is arranged at the beginning of the dryer section, is adjusted such that a temperature detention curve of the web is selected from an upper half of a drying substance. An impingement-drying unit (12) is arranged immediately after the drying cylinder. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a dryer comprising an impingement-drying unit (2) a method for improving a running ability in a dryer of a fiber web machine.
