PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording device capable of preventing the temperature of a heat roller from deviating significantly from the fixing temperature, when the temperature of the heat roller is controlled to be at the fixing temperature. SOLUTION: The image recording device 1 includes a fixing unit 15; a switching section 53, switchable between an on-state for supplying power to the heater 39 of the fixing unit 15 and an off-state for supplying no power to it; and a temperature control section 55. In the temperature control section 55, a period for which the switching section 53 is turned on and a period for which it is turned off are predetermined. First control is exerted, such that when each of the periods elapses, even if the temperature of the heat roller 35 of the fixing unit 15 does not reach the fixing temperature, the temperature of the heat roller 35 is made to approach the fixing temperature, by repeating the switching on and off of the switching section 53.
