PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process signals dependent on several image compression standards by a small circuit arrangement.

SOLUTION: A first coefficient of a first operation part 2 is set in response to a standard/mode switching signal. The first operation part 2 performs multiplication on the basis of the first coefficient with respect to an input signal f[]in. A second operation part 3 performs multiplication on the basis of a second coefficient with respect to the output of the first operation part 2. A selection part 5 selects either of an output of the first operation part 2 and an output of the second operation part 3 in response to the standard/mode switching signal. A third operation part 4 selects one or both of an output of an input signal and an output of the first operation part 2 in response to the standard/mode switching signal. One or both of addition-subtraction and bit shift is performed in response to the standard/mode switching signal with respect to the selected signal. Output signals MUL0 and MUL1 are obtained from the selection part 5. Output signals MUL2 and MUL3 are obtained from the third operation part 4.
