PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of non-dropping a cleaning capacity when cleaning in the daytime with large ambient sound and executing a quite cleaning when cleaning at night with small ambient sound. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a volume detection means for detecting the volume of ambient sound near a cleaner body incorporated with an electric blower, and a control means for controlling the rotation frequency of the electric blower and having a clock means. In cleaning, when the volume of the ambient sound detected by the volume detection means is a predetermined sound level or more and a time counted by the clock means is a predetermined time slot, the control means reduces the rotation frequency of the electric blower.
