#CMT# #/CMT# The circuit has a control circuit (31) with control outputs (12, 13) for controlling a direct current (DC)-to-DC converter (61), and an error indicating circuit (32) for indicating an error case, if the error indicating circuit detects a defect of the control circuit. A switch unit (33) switches the control of the converter such that the converter is controlled by the control outputs, if no error case is indicated. The converter is controlled by a safety circuit (2), if the error case is indicated, such that a step-up-converter is switched off and a step-down-converter is operable. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a motor vehicle voltage supply circuit. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Motor vehicle-voltage supply circuit for supplying voltage to a high speed consumer of a vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The direct current (DC)-to-DC converter is used to lower a voltage if the error case is indicated, so that a simple short-circuit between the voltage and another voltage is not loaded over charge by high current, thus slowly unloading energy storage by the DC-to-DC converter. The motor vehicle voltage supply circuit can be realized without additional components, so that the cost and complex in the production of the circuit is reduced.
