During the cultivation, the liquid culture medium is guided with a pump into the circuit through a heat exchange unit and a gas exchange unit. The gas exchange unit is integrated in the circuit and is flowed through from the culture medium and a flushing gas. During the cultivation, the liquid culture medium is guided with a pump into the circuit through a heat exchange unit and a gas exchange unit. The gas exchange unit is integrated in the circuit and is flowed through from the culture medium and a flushing gas. The culture medium is cooled and the concentration of the gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide dissolved in the culture medium is changed. The reactor container and the circuit are completely filled with the liquid culture medium. A pressure variant from the ambient pressure is adjusted in the reactor and the circuit. After the passage of the gas exchange unit, the carbon dioxide is removed from the exhaust gas flow in the physi- or chemisorptive exhaust gas treatment unit and the cleaned exhaust gas is introduced with oxygen or oxygen-rich gas from a supply container renewed as flushing gas into the gas exchange unit after subsequent mixing. The withdrawal of the cultural medium flow from the reactor is simultaneously and independently carried out in several sites. The reintroduction of the circulating culture medium flow into the reactor is carried out in several sites with a suitable device, so that the energy of the flow induces mixing and homogenization of reactor contents without using additional electrically driven mixing tool. One of the pumping units is present in the active conveying operation to produce the circulation of the liquid culture medium.
