IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, DATA ACCESS METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent formation of an irregular image when a storage medium is connected not accurately in an image forming apparatus allowing loading and unloading of a plurality of storage media.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes an attachable/detachable storage unit (HDD51Y for Y color and HDD62 for controller or the like) for storing data for each class of functions (print control and formation of color image or the like) to form images and a plurality of connecting units (I/F22, 64 or the like) for connecting each attachable/detachable storage unit. Moreover, the image forming apparatus 100 further includes a control unit (CPU10) for recognizing data stored in the storing unit connected to each connecting unit and for controlling write and/or read of data to and/or from the connected storing unit based on the relevant recognition result.
