PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator reducing power consumption, and improving volume efficiency by installing a machine chamber and a cooler chamber with the optimum layout to a cooling storage space with the horizontally-long outer shape, increasing rigidity as a heat insulating housing with a simple constitution, and having a good outlook design even when the refrigerator is installed in a kitchen for home use. SOLUTION: A lower part of the inside of a main body 1 having the horizontally-long shape is divided into right and left by a heat insulating partitioning wall, one of them is applied as a refrigerating storage space provided with the machine chamber at a back portion, the other is applied as a freezing storage space provided with the cooler chamber and a small machine chamber communicated with the machine chamber at its back portion. An outer housing bottom portion is composed of: a bottom plate A32 forming the machine chamber; a bottom plate B33 forming the small machine chamber; an angular reinforcement plate 30 disposed from a bottom face of the heat insulating partitioning wall to a back face lower portion; a back face reinforcement plate 29 disposed on a back face portion of the heat insulating partitioning wall; and a bottom reinforcement plate 31 connecting the angular reinforcement plate and the back face reinforcement plate, having a communicating portion 34 with the bottom plates A, B having the different cross-sectional shapes, and forming a partitioning face.
