PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cowl louver, smoothly plastically deformable, when a downward load is suddenly applied to the rear edge side of a hood panel, even in a constitution having a rib without checking the original action of the rib. SOLUTION: This cowl louver 15 has a support part 16 supporting an under surface of the rear edge 3a of the hood panel 3, and a body part 19 supporting the under surface side by a cowl panel 10. The body part 19 has a vertical wall part 20 and a horizontal wall part 21. The deformation preventive substantially triangular plate-like rib 29 is juxtaposed in a plurality of places in the lateral direction between the vertical wall part 20 and the horizontal wall part 21 by connecting the vertical wall part 20 and the horizontal wall part 21. When the downward load is suddenly applied to the rear edge 3a side of the hood panel 3, the rib 29 is ruptured so as to be divided in the longitudinal direction, and a rupture expected part 30 capable of making the vertical wall part 20 fall down to the front side, is formed so as to radially extend from a crossing part P between the vertical wall part 20 and the horizontal wall part 21.
